How information is handled
Buan Tutoring collects parent, student, enquiry, booking, tutoring and payment-related information needed to respond to enquiries, book consultations, assess tutoring suitability, process Action Plan checkout, manage tutoring records and communicate with families.
Information collected
- Parent or guardian name, email address and phone number.
- Student name, year level, subject, preferred days and tutoring notes.
- Enquiry messages, consultation booking details and availability notes.
- Action Plan order information, payment status and Stripe checkout session information.
- Technical information normally collected by website hosting, security and analytics tools, if enabled.
Why it is collected
- To respond to enquiries and book diagnostic consultations.
- To assess whether The Action Plan or long-term tutoring is suitable.
- To process checkout and payment confirmation.
- To manage tutoring records, availability, group placement and parent communication.
- To comply with legal, accounting, tax, dispute-resolution and record-keeping obligations.
Sharing and security
Information may be shared with service providers used to operate the website and business, including Firebase / Google Cloud, Cloudflare, Stripe and email or SMS providers. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.
Student information is collected only to assess tutoring needs, prepare support, communicate with parents or guardians, and manage tutoring records. Please do not submit unnecessary sensitive information through the website forms.

Terms of Service
How tutoring services work
These terms apply to enquiries, diagnostic consultations, The Action Plan, long-term tutoring interest and tutoring services provided by Buan Tutoring.
Services offered
- Free diagnostic consultation: a limited consultation used to assess student needs and recommend a suitable next step.
- The Action Plan: a paid 5-session tutoring plan currently advertised at $350 AUD.
- Long-term tutoring: weekly small-group tutoring subject to availability, student fit, group placement and timetable confirmation.
No guaranteed academic outcome
Buan Tutoring aims to provide structured, syllabus-aligned tutoring and clear academic support. Student results depend on attendance, effort, prior knowledge, assessment conditions, school requirements and other factors outside Buan Tutoring’s control. No specific grade, mark, ATAR result or assessment outcome is guaranteed.
Student and parent responsibilities
- Provide accurate information when submitting forms.
- Attend scheduled sessions on time.
- Bring relevant school materials, assessment notices, drafts, teacher feedback or recent exams where useful.
- Communicate availability or cancellation issues as early as possible.
Payment and checkout
Action Plan payment is processed through Stripe. Stripe may separately collect and process payment information under its own terms and privacy policy.

Refunds & Cancellations
Reasonable, case-by-case handling
The Action Plan is a structured five-session package. Refunds and cancellations are handled based on the service purchased, sessions already delivered, preparation already completed, payment processing costs and the circumstances of cancellation.
Action Plan refunds
- If Buan Tutoring cannot provide paid sessions, a suitable remedy will be offered, such as rescheduling or refunding affected unused sessions.
- If a family changes their mind before any Action Plan session has been delivered, contact Buan Tutoring as soon as possible to discuss options.
- Refunds for partially used packages are assessed case by case.
- This policy does not remove any rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Missed or cancelled sessions
Please provide as much notice as possible if a session needs to be cancelled or rescheduled. If a student misses a confirmed session or cancels at short notice, the session may be counted as used unless otherwise agreed, especially where the time was reserved and could not reasonably be filled by another student.
Long-term tutoring
Long-term tutoring times, group placement and payment arrangements are confirmed manually. Any ongoing cancellation or pause arrangement should be discussed directly with Buan Tutoring.
